What it is

A product feed is a structured export of catalog data that another channel can ingest. Google Shopping, Meta ads, affiliates, and marketplaces use feeds to receive titles, links, images, prices, availability, identifiers, and other attributes without someone retyping every listing.

Reach for one when products must stay current outside your storefront. The feed may be a scheduled XML or CSV file, an API sync, or both. Each destination has its own required fields and accepted values, so one canonical catalog usually needs a channel-specific transformation.

Gotcha: a valid file can still advertise the wrong thing. Price and stock drift cause rejected listings and bad clicks, while missing GTIN, brand, color, or size data weakens matching and filtering. Generate from the source of truth, keep item IDs stable, monitor destination errors, and refresh fast enough for the inventory you actually carry.

Ask AI for it

Generate a Google Merchant Center product feed from this catalog as RSS 2.0 XML with the Google product namespace. Emit stable id, title, description, link, image_link, availability, price with ISO 4217 currency, condition, brand, and GTIN or MPN fields for every eligible variant; escape XML correctly and exclude drafts, missing images, and invalid landing pages. Add per-country and per-language feed routes, cache each generated file, refresh it after catalog, price, or inventory changes, and build an admin report that records rejected items and maps channel errors back to the exact product attribute.
