What it is

SERP is 'search engine results page', and the acronym matters because the page stopped being a list years ago. A modern SERP stacks paid ads, an AI Overview, a featured snippet, People Also Ask, videos, an image row, a local map pack, shopping tiles, and somewhere down there, the organic results everyone is optimizing for.

Read the SERP before you write the page. What already ranks is the engine telling you what it believes the query means: all product pages means commercial intent, all step-by-step articles means informational, a map pack means local. Matching the format that already wins beats any keyword tool.

Two traps. Ranking 'number one' organically can still put you below the fold behind four ads and an AI Overview, so position and visibility are different numbers. And SERPs are personalized and localized: your logged-in browser is a bad measuring instrument, so check in an incognito window or a rank tracker pinned to a specific location.

Ask AI for it

Analyze the SERP for this query and tell me what to build. Report the result types present in top-to-bottom order (ads, AI Overview, featured snippet, People Also Ask, video, image pack, local pack, organic), the dominant page type and content format across the top 10 organic results, their rough word counts and heading structures, and the search intent the mix implies. Then give me a page outline that matches the winning format instead of fighting it.
