What it is
Screen replacement composites new content onto a filmed phone, tablet, laptop, television, or monitor. A planar track follows the display's perspective, a Corner Pin bends the new image into those four corners, and a mask keeps it inside the glass. Reflections, fingers, and foreground objects are then restored above the replacement.
Reach for it when the interface was unfinished during filming, the content needs localization, or a live screen would flicker, moire, or blow out on camera. Tracking marks on a neutral screen give the solver detail without casting the strong green spill of a saturated key color.
Gotcha: a geometrically perfect replacement can still look pasted on. Match the plate's brightness, black level, color temperature, focus, motion blur, and grain. Preserve real glare and fingerprints where possible, and rotoscope every finger that crosses the glass instead of letting the new interface cover it.

Replace this moving phone display in Adobe After Effects. Planar-track the glass in Mocha AE, export the solve as Corner Pin data, and apply it to a precomp matching the screen's aspect ratio. Use a feathered mask to confine the UI to the glass, then rotoscope fingers and the bezel above it. Match the plate with 0.7 px Gaussian Blur, sampled black and white levels, matching motion blur, and a subtle grain pass. Restore the original reflections over the UI at reduced opacity.
