What it is
A comparison page answers '[your product] vs [competitor]'; an alternative page answers '[competitor] alternatives'. Both meet buyers who already know the category and are choosing a shortlist. The useful version compares fit, workflow, limits, support, and price instead of declaring one universal winner.
Reach for one when prospects repeatedly ask the same competitive questions or search data shows people pairing the two brand names. Those queries already have owners: G2 and Capterra listicles sit on most of them, and the vendor page competes against that. State who each product is best for, use a scannable matrix for factual differences, and give switchers a concrete migration path.
Gotcha: a comparison rots the moment a competitor changes its plan. Date every researched claim, link to its source, and assign an owner to recheck it. Never fabricate a weakness, quote, price, customer, or feature, and do not make unsupported superiority claims.
Ask AI for it
Build a comparison page for [our product] versus [named competitor] using only these dated, linked sources: [sources]. Start with a neutral summary of who each product suits, then compare the six buying criteria in [criteria], add a migration section for switchers, an FAQ, and one CTA. Put factual differences in a semantic HTML table with a `<caption>`, row and column headers, and CSS `overflow-x: auto` on its wrapper. Cite every competitor claim beside the claim and label the research date. Mark missing evidence as 'not verified'; never guess a price, limit, feature, customer, quote, or ranking.
