Environmental graphics
The brand built into a physical place through signs, murals, storefronts, wayfinding, window graphics, and spatial installations.

What it is
Environmental graphics carry identity and information through physical space: exterior signs, reception walls, murals, window vinyl, room markers, directional systems, and branded installations. Lance Wyman's Mexico 68 work is a canonical example, extending one graphic language across venues, pictograms, signs, tickets, and the city around them.
Reach for them when a place must both feel like the brand and help people move through it. Design from actual plans, sightlines, walking routes, viewing distances, lighting, materials, and installation conditions, then prototype critical signs at full size.
Gotcha: a wall is not a giant web banner. Fine lines disappear across a lobby, reflections erase contrast, doors interrupt artwork, and a sign hidden behind an open door has failed regardless of how good the mockup looks. Separate navigation from decoration and involve fabricators before artwork is final.

Design an environmental graphics package for [SITE] from [FLOOR PLANS], [BRAND SYSTEM], [MESSAGE SCHEDULE], [MATERIAL LIMITS], and [VIEWING DISTANCES]. In Adobe Illustrator, create a sign-location plan, exterior and reception identifiers, directional signs, room markers, one mural or window treatment, and full-size prototypes of the two highest-risk signs. Specify Pantone Solid Coated colors where supplied, materials, finishes, dimensions, mounting method, and production artwork layers. Check every route from arrival to destination and flag missing code or accessibility requirements for specialist review.
