What it is

A brand hub or digital asset management system is the controlled library that serves current approved logos, photos, templates, fonts, video, and campaign files. Unlike a brand guide, which explains the rules, the hub manages the actual files with previews, metadata, versions, permissions, rights, and download formats. Frontify, Bynder, and Brandfolder sell this as a product category.

Reach for one when shared drives have filled with names like FINAL_logo_v7_USE_THIS.svg, or when staff and partners need different access. Give every asset a stable identifier, owner, status, usage rights, expiry date where relevant, and a clear approved version.

Gotcha: software cannot fix an unowned library. Migrating every duplicate without curation creates a faster junk drawer, while deleting old work can erase history or rights evidence. Define the metadata, approval workflow, archive policy, and named librarians before importing files.

Ask AI for it

Design a brand hub and DAM structure for [TEAMS], [PARTNERS], and [ASSET INVENTORY]. Define collections, roles, approval states, archive rules, and required metadata: stable asset ID, title, owner, campaign, market, language, rights source, expiry date, version, and approved status. Store masters with Amazon S3 Versioning, record a SHA-256 checksum for duplicate detection, and generate role-appropriate renditions without overwriting originals. Deliver the migration map, permission matrix, metadata dictionary, review queue, and partner download flow.
